Portrait of Niloufar in the studio

Between reality and dreams

I’m Niloufar, an architect and visual artist born in Tehran, Iran.

My background in architecture has shaped the way I see the world through space, form, rhythm, and the delicate relationship between structure and emotion.

My artistic practice moves between architecture, painting, poetry, and imagination. Inspired by Persian literature, mythology, nature, and the traces of ancient cultures, I explore the boundaries between reality and dreams.

For me, art is a language beyond words: a way to preserve memories, express emotions, and bring invisible worlds into form.

Welcome to my world, a place between reality and dreams, where unseen worlds await discovery.

How a piece comes together

  1. Sketch

Every work starts with a loose drawing, usually from a face I can’t stop thinking about.

  2. Layers

Colour goes on in thin, slow layers, warm underpainting first, light last.

  3. Details

The final days are for eyes, edges and gold. This is where a piece finds its mood.
